Need your feedback on iPhonica (and win a copy)

Hi guys,

I'm already working on a new template for Jobberbase (yep, that's number 4 in 4 weeks). This one is the first based on Jobatica and is going to be a two in one theme! One for desk/laptops and 1 for haldhelds (iPhone/mobile phone). It's going to be my first premium template, but you can win a copy or grab it for just € 50!

I'd like to hear from you what you think of the template and if you've got any suggestions/feedback.

I'm giving away 3 copies of iPhonica to the Jobberbase community. The winners will be selected randomly among all commenters to this post. The winners will be announced Monday, 22th of February 2010 in this post.

I really like it, looks clean and fresh.

Good work... I like the drop down menus and the logo in the middle. Looks very professional.

you can try to change the colors of the "freelance" "full time" to make them more... fade.
the contrast between them and the template not to be so strong.

Seems you have styled the Spotlight and regular jobs as the same with just a big gap in between. Spotlight jobs should have a different unique style.

Also please make some new images for Job types since I see u r just using the same images used in default theme.

@navjotjsingh: You're right the spotlight jobs need some higlighting of some sort. I'll work that out the coming days.

I'm going to style the jobtype images and put some other colorstyles with it so you can make your own/choose your own color.

Also one more suggestion...pls don't use any image from frontend or default admin theme.....make the cadify theme directory self-dependent. I am suggesting this because I am working on enabling multiple admin theme support so that we can switch from one admin theme to other easily.

Just posted a image with some features you probably did not see the first time, but makes you want it.

@alexnegru: added new jobtype icons (in 9 color styles) + original PSD added
@navjotjsingh: changed presentation of spotlight jobs and template is totally independant from other files of front- or backend.

For the record: I'm only using 7 images. 3 for jobtype, 2 gradients, 1 arrow in sidebar and 1 logo. The rest is CSS, so it's pretty light weight

Same observation here hope you could change the color of fulltime, freelance and parttime to blend with the template... other than that Best template.. very clean and professional...

Just as i loved your Jobberbased theme, this one also looks clean and so 2.0.
Just wondered, is the part with iphone image is going to be an image slider? Would be great if it does.

The text block is by default not an image slider, but I'm going to offer several neat functions as plugins which you can insert in every template. It will be Accordions, Sliders, Navigation menus etc.

I'll start building those plugins very soon.

Very nice looking template. Gives the site web 2.0 look and also professional looking. I think you have covered most of the important things.

The template is nearing it's release. Just written a new post with images on my website with most of the elements in it in the different color styles.

Please, can you give more details about the area where you have the text and iphone picture please?
Is it a pic + text you can edit? can you link to a page within the site? to external site?
Will you propose free upgrades for the next version of jobberbase?

The area at the top with the image and text is an area you can edit in home.tpl. So you can do with it whatever you want. (I'm also going to release a plugin pack so you can easily create content sliders/ popups/tooltips/show/hide content etc.) The whole template is build to be edited. You can change the overall look of the website by choosing 1 of 9 colorstyles, change colors and icons of status messages etc.
It's build for JB 1.8 and JB 1.9 and I will provide free upgrades in the future.

I think one of the best sides of jobberbase is the possibility to see jobs right away and easily change categories. Many jobsites require too much clicking through drop down-menus. This new theme looks great, but does it offer possibility to have old styled tabbed job browsing? Or is the only possibility to change category to go clicking through drop-down menu?

You can fill the menu with the categories and drop the dropdown. That's not so hard to accomplish. And you can always count on support from me on the paid templates! I went for a dropdown because with more than 7 categories the template usually breaks in 2 lines, which I don't like.
