Topic: forward a cv/resume that a job seeker posts while applying for jobs

hi friends

wishes from deepak!

Many of you would like to store the resume that a Job seeker posts while applying for job on your site.
I dont know how to save it in uploads directory, but certainly ,you can forward a copy to yourself.

To do so,you need to add a BCC which means that the mail which will be sent to Company when some one applies for a job will also be forwarded to you without the notice of company/job seeker.

to do so,find class.Postman.php file on _includes directory and edit it.

Now edit

Re: forward a cv/resume that a job seeker posts while applying for jobs

Quite similar solution to what I posted here
http://www.jobberbase.com/forum/topic94 … nline.html
but with one important distinction....my solution allows the applicant to input their OWN email to be BCC (so the hiring company doesn't know the applicant bcc'd themselves).

Adding a BCC and replacing emailid@emaildomain.com with the site owner's email is essentially putting the site Admin/Owner in the position of harvesting resumes without the applicant's knowledge or approval as clearly stated by...

"...which will be sent to Company when some one applies for a job will also be forwarded to you without the notice of company/job seeker."

...Yes collecting and storing resumes is one objective, but not by stealing them...but...by utilizing an appropriate resume database where applicants intend to have his/her data stored by the site.

I would be VERY careful here because nearly all countries prohibit interception of electronic transmissions intended for another party...which the above solution does.

To be honest and put it simply, intercepting applications so the site owner can store resumes is unethical, if not also illegal.

How would you like it if your email application containing your personal & contact information and career details was being BCC'd by the site without your knowledge?

And if I represented the hiring company and found out the site I'm using to receive confidential application information is being secretly BCC'd to the site's owner, I would call a lawyer and go after the site registrant(s) because it is data theft.

All a job seeker or employer has to do is run a red herring though the site....meaning...apply to a job with a made-up resume and see if anyone contacts you with those same resume details. Believe me companies do that because with 14+ yrs of executive recruiting experience I ran red herrings through online job sites where I posted my jobs on.

As Sr. Contributor of Jobberbase, I have deleted the above code section. Censorship goes against my character but in this case, I don't see deleting the above details as censorship but removing a potentially illegal activity.

If you would like to post another solution please do so.
