Topic: Resumes/CV Bank
Hello,
It would be so cool for candidates to be able to post resumes too!
This would be a really good complement.

I agree!
Yes, the possibility to post resumes would be a great feature for jobberbase:
Having two sections, one for job offers and another for people who are searching for a job.
Is there any third party program for resume banks?
probably in a near future .. if i find the time to make it !
First my exams and we'll see later!!
But yes, it's a great idea
This is a must, in order to be a full featured job board.
one idea could be to reuse jobberbase changing words and using it to publish CVs!
ading on both button to post CV or JOBs and sending a home page to the other as if they are th same site..
I have been looking for something like this. It would be nice to have a resume section as all the other big sites do.
Checkout this handy freeware, if only it could be incorperated into this script
As it involves storing a lot of personal information, cv database will cause your site to eventually get hacked (as monster.com cv database with 1.6 million records was stolen not to long ago).
Maybe the easy solution would be to just add another entry "jobs wanted" right after the full-time, part-time, freelance icons enabling anyone to post. (still sounds bad..anyone have a better idea?)

Another vote for this one from me.
I think it is pretty critical for a mature jobboard.
Another option is candidate marketing, which allows you to load a series of recruiters or companies that are interested in receiving CVs.
And you then charge the applicant to broadcast their CV details to these providers.
Also a lot of other boards have a headhunter section meaning you can review the CVs.
it kinda goes against my idea of a (original) jobboard.
the cool thing about JB is that you don't need to worry about who gets your data, there's no need to register, etc ..
There are 1000's of CV collecting websites, and most people hate them!
However... if you want such a tool/website, I might have what you're looking for (not jobberbase, something different). you can contact me at info@jobbit.eu
Anyway it quite simple ad a trick to store added CVs into upload folder, i'm collectiong about 30 cv per day on www.lavorohotel.net
sure it is. And it's illegal in many countries to gather such data (without having permission)

Yes, so why not add the ask for permission? it is ethicaly correct and also legaly correct, as an option, just if they could like in future to receive purposes for work, it is in them interest too.
I understand where you're coming from, but try to look at it from the candidates point of view: THEY should be in control of where THEIR info goes, not the agency.
personally, I hate to get 10 phonecalls from headhunters per day, but thats my opinion. Ofcourse there are jobboards that work like that, but I don't sign up there.
I have been searching for this also even if I can accomplish that with another script.
I agree with lxer that he don’t want to get off the (original jobboard … BUT I am not with the argument if you can or not and all the legal mambo jambo …. it is a nice added option for you to put on your website and for users to submit their resumes … no one will be forced to do so !
cheers
One more vote!
If you going to use it or not, up to you.
But I am sure this would be great for JB.
Cheers,
Adding this feature to store the CV's in a folder on the server is not too difficult. But how would you use these CV's? The CV's will come in different formats, i.e. PDF, word & rtf. How would you search the content of the CV's and present them in a fashion where a HeadHunter/Agency would be easily able to search and return a list of candidates? The download a copy of there CV? Im no coding expert by any means, but I know a far bit of PHP and not too sure how you would do this??
I suppose you could use the php fopen and fread funtion, but doubt this would work on pdf documents.
If im missing a trick, please let me know.
Cheers,
Steve
I juststore them there for now, then in some way like gmail.com is doing I could show these files and be able to give serviceof searches into them, for now I just archive and store them, I get about 15cv per day on www.lavorohotel.net

Yeah adding C.V module to jobbebase will be awesome ![]()
would it not be simple for someone ( i have no idea about code - sorry ) to create a script to allow people to upload a file and then list them on a page
You could have the list accessible by all or protected I guess...
It could be standalone or integrated
How does that sound ?

May be this resume posting feature can be at a paid plug-in? I am happy to pay for this add-on
i'm wondering about this discussion, as this add-on is already available for quite some time now. and not just the jobseeker add-on, but employer add-on as well.
you can read more about the employer/jobseeker add-on features in my website:
(also check my signature as the add-ons are on sale right now)

I have seen through the demo but I don't see the possibility of somebody to read through the posted resumes
if using the jobseeker add-on, only the jobseeker will be able to manage their resumes and who they send to and the admin will be able to manage the jobseeker accounts and resumes. if using the employer and jobseeker add-ons, the employer and the admin can see and search through the database of resumes while the jobseeker can manage all his application or whether or not he/she wants to make the resume or the profile private or public or deactivate his resume.
jobseekers can create a short profile for themselves and then upload a resume (either in doc or pdf or text file) and whenever the jobseeker applies, the profile and the encrypted link to the resume is sent as well.
on the demo if you post a job and login as admin to the site and approve your account (it can be set to auto approve employer accounts or manually approving but in the demo it is manually approved) then you can login as employer and then you should be able to browse through resumes
