Topic: jobberBase v1.8 released today ?!
Hi, i thought, jobberBase 1.8 was being released today ?! I went to download it and was sent a link to version 1.7?
Have you guys changed your mind?

Actually some bugs crept in and additional enhancements were being done which have delayed the release date by a few days. Expect it soon.
Code is freezed as of now and no more committs will be done. We are as excited to launch it as you are to see it. Just have patience a bit longer.

OK, fair enough, but an update would be nice. Reason why i asked was because it was stated on the site that it would of been released today so i was waiting to download the 1.8 version as im sure others where as well but did not see an update on the site about it be delayed. I didn't know, wasn't told, so I had to ask.
If that is the case, i advise you put something up on your Blog informing everyone else that was eagerly awaiting the 1.8 version today of the situation and when you think the 1.8 version will be ready for release. Things happen in life, but keeping people informed goes along way to help that situation. Hope your able to sort the bugs and the additional enhancements but a time frame of when you think it will be ready would be nice.

But for the time being, i'll download and look at version 1.7 till your 1.8 is available.

Sorry if you felt that way. And moreover, the date was only mentioned on wiki and it said Tentative. It was never a confirmed date of release, so few days +- should have been obvious.

Valid comment Nav. Have to confess i was not 100% sure of the meaning of the word Tentative so that's why a few +- days wasn't obvious to me, my bad, and my apologies.
I'll keep an eye on your Blog and twitter for updates.
I have downloaded the v1.7 but having problems installing it on my server. I'll drop a help request in the correct part of this forum.
Qu. When you release v1.8, will it come with upgrading from v1.7 instructions? If not possible maybe i should wait till v1.8 is released?

Giving jobberBase its own Installer is our on priority but currently no such installer routine or upgrade routine is included with v1.8 version. So a manual upgrade will have to be performed.
And between 1.7 and 1.8, we have done - 159 Commits(still few bug fixing going on - thanks to putypuruty) - the biggest release according to me! So its better if you wait for 1.8 final version. It should be out soon.
To upgrade from 1.7 to 1.8, most of the files will need replacement(this is easy). But if you have a custom theme, it can be a uphill task for some to follow even if we manage to release instructions for it. And there are some database changes too for upgrade to happen.

OK, thanks for the reply. I will wait for the v1.8 to be released as I'm having problems with v1.7 on my server. (Probably a problem with my server but i cant login to the admin system, says /page-unavailable/).
So looking forward to v1.8.

BTW...if you are facing problems in logging into admin, then probably check the contents of .htaccess file in admin directory, its path name may need a bit tweak.
