cool site you've found there!

Re: Disable & Prevent everyone to post job [ Started by xenophobia in General support : 7 replies ]

i think that adding a member management should be an extension, not an included feature as that's actually not really in the spirit of a lightweight job board...

Re: Help Me can't install it [ Started by LapTop in General support : 4 replies ]

sounds like your access and rewrite instructions don't match your environment - maybe you can post your .htaccess file?

Re: what are all the possible sorts of code you can put in function escape [ Started by chrisdegrote in General support : 3 replies ]

i think that really depends on what you want to offer - i for once wouldn't use anything other than layout related (e.g. omit tags like span, object, embed, param...).

GoDaddy actually works fine once you've got the htaccess figured out.

If you want to host for free, you can check out the link in my footer.

@chris
i've got the rss import of pligg modified in such a way that it imports neatly into my db - that's the link for me...

Re: XML import in to Jobberbase MySql database tool [ Started by Anonymous in General discussion : 62 replies ]

i can only point once again to my prior post whithin this thread and to a nifty rss-import demonstration video by the pligg developer itself.

Re: smtp how to configure [ Started by yoach in General support : 5 replies ]

right, works smooth :)

should you have any questions regarding their hosting, don't hesitate to ask, although it works pretty straight forward without any major issues so far.

Re: Good hosting [ Started by Anonymous in Bug reports : 5 replies ]

If you don't mind free (as in paying nothing), try the host in my signature - they've so far been reliable for over half a year now, although slow at times (but i've had that with paid hosts as well). Perfect for a decent size install (i'm running a manual cron on it that imports around 200 - 300 jobs per day).

Re: Looking to Hire a Pro [ Started by realt in General support : 1 replies ]

hi realt, depending on the size of your install you can run it without any issues for free, even using your own domain.

if you do have the time, you might wanna try the installation yourself (won't take longer than 30 mins) which will allow you to understand the script a bit better as the installer most likely will not be available whenever needed by you (timezones or other project might be some of the reasons).

if u do not have the time, there are several people on here that are willing to assist.

Re: How to send url through bit.ly? [ Started by evertsemeijn in General support : 6 replies ]

that's a nice workaround, keskese, otherwise i would've thought with the API docs u can store the shortened URL in a new table...

excellent job!

maybe we could even start seperating it by license...

might sound stupid, but did u have a look at their API docs?

Re: small modification for multi language translations.ini [ Started by adisetiawan in Tutorials : 5 replies ]

hi chris, by linking to the right url, e.g. a switch from your default dutch to german would work like this:

http://www.baanict.com/nl/job/84/software-consultant-at-chipsoft-bv/
http://www.baanict.com/de/job/84/software-consultant-at-chipsoft-bv/

you'll be able to read the current URL and modify through e.g. javascript

Re: Which theme should I port? [ Started by evertsemeijn in Templates for jobberBase : 2 replies ]

remembered it: typebased...

another option would be

http://web-kreation.com/demos/oneroom/ (not that similar, though...)

Re: Which theme should I port? [ Started by evertsemeijn in Templates for jobberBase : 2 replies ]

evert, what an offer!

i believe any of the below would do really nice with jobberbase, with my faves from top to bottom (if the themes are only released as 'free', e.g. grid-focus, I'd gladly get in touch with the original author):

http://www.solucija.com/free-templates (web application and internet encyclopedia)
http://v1.adii.co.za/2008/06/20/wp-polaroid-v2-wordpress-theme/ (though I don't like the colors)
http://www.rockettheme.com/joomla-downloads/free/114-novus
http://5thirtyone.com/grid-focus
http://themasterplan.in/tma
http://granimpetu.com/fontella/ (great to further tweak to your liking)

I also do like the open air theme from woo themes and have seen a similar one released under GPL but can't think of the name anymore and don't find it in my bookmarks...

Re: Would you rate an employer? [ Started by Tokyoj in General discussion : 2 replies ]

my 2 satang? i think that even though it adds value, you might lose out on potential employers as they don't want to get rated/reviewed... i had exactly the same thought and then decided not to allow employer rating.
