Forgot to mention that this worked, thanks!
I'm seeing a slight display error in Chrome on the secondary pages. I thought it might just be our site, but I'm also seeing it on the JB demo:
http://www.jobberbase.com/demo/companies/
There is a slight line just above the "companies that have published here" title. Anyone know how to fix this? Looks fine in IE8 and FF.
Any updates on when this is coming? I want to see it in action! :)
Just noticed something odd - the links appear correctly when I'm editing a post on the admin side. Still doesn't save properly when I'm done editing, but I see the link. Doesn't work at all on the verify ad page on the normal site.
Did anyone ever figure this out?
Thanks, Chronos. I'll see if that file contains anything that looks suspicious. I do have a programmer friend who is eventually supposed to help me fix this, just getting impatient while he finishes up his other project. ;)
This is probably a stupid question w/o being able to see my files, but is there any way of telling which file this might be related to? I'm not much of a programmer, unfortunately. My guesses are:
publish-write.tpl
page_write.php
recaptchalib.lib
Any of these more likely than the others to be a source of the problem?
Sounds good, Tokyoj.
It's definitely not an isolated incident - it happens to me with any ad that has quotes. I've checked with FF, IE and Chrome.
* Edit - I've updated to 1.6, btw.
Huh. I just checked this on the demo site, and I didn't see the same problem. I'll do a bit more digging, but I might be the only one with this problem. :(
*Edit - I have installed recaptcha on the job creation page, which I noticed the demo site doesn't have. Not sure if that has anything to do with it.
Thanks purty. I thought the problem was originally tied to the textile formatting, because I noticed it when I was trying to add textile links ("link":http:www.link.com). I noticed it last night with an ad that just had quotes around a word at a random spot in the ad.
Didn't see this in the forums, sorry if it's a dupe. Is anyone else having a problem with putting quotes into a job ad? I'm using Textile, and if I do something like this when entering info in the job description box:
We are "hiring" right now!
I get a white page. If I do the same exact ad and only change the quotes, I'm fine. Anyone run into this?
My e-mail would have to be verified the first time, or the person I'm entering it for? I think I was a bit confusing the first time. Here's an example:
I enter an ad for company A using my e-mail (Me@me.com). I then switch it in the db to the proper e-mail address (them@companyA.com). Would them@companyA.com get a validation e-mail after the db switch?
I'm interested in this, too. Filip - if you did it your way, would that e-mail address be verified?
Did anyone get this fixed? I've found that the bold functionality and the bullet list (with *) work, but the underline, link and numbered list do not.
_this_ does nothing for me.
"wiki".http://www.wikipedia.com causes the next page to be blank when I'm posting a job.

Nice work, redjumpsuit! Coincidentally, we had a separate thread about this going yesterday:
http://www.jobberbase.com/forum/topic751-login-system-for-applicants.html
I'm interested in checking it out, I'll drop you an e-mail.
I'll bite, Tokyoj. ;)
If anyone thinks they'd be willing/able to do this, I'd be happy to put together a feature list and some screenshots (if it would be helpful). I think Chronos mentioned at one point that he was considering it. Off the top of my head:
* Log-in system
** Log-in screen or widget on homepage
** Log-out button (if they're logged in)
* Profile Creation Screen
** Employer info
*** Logo
*** Description
*** Zip/postal code (for eventual google map support, US and Canada)
*** Contact info (e-mail, phone, website)
*** Recaptcha for verification
** Successful profile creation message
** Error message for incomplete profile
* Employer dashboard screen - Current admin system has different links in the upper right when you log in (pages, categories, change your password, logout) We need the following abilities/pages. Some can be handled on the same page:
** Edit profile
** Job list
** Edit jobs
** Delete jobs
** Renew expired jobs? …
Not sure if anyone else has pointed this out, but I noticed this in step 4. There's a line of code added that starts with:
<a href="{$BASE_URL}vacature/{$job.id}/
I needed to change the term "vacature" to "job", which is what my table (or maybe folder?) is called. Not sure what it's called during default install, but that might be something you need to edit to get the spotlight links to work. So after first updating, my job links were looking like:
/vacature/16/tester-at-gjh/
Once I changed it, they looked like this (and started working):
/job/16/tester-at-gjh/
Hey Chronos - I also went through test, and so far, so good! Thanks for your work on this feature (and the great tutorial). I am not a coder, and everything seems to work for me.
I sent an e-mail to you NewEnergy, but thought it was worth mentioning to the group.
If I (or a small group) end up paying a decent amount for a custom feature, I'd probably prefer to keep it within that group. But, if it was just a matter of raising a smaller amount to motivate the JB developers to work on this feature, I'd have no problem chipping in something like $50-$75 US, with the hopes that we could get more people to do the same.
I realize custom work would be much more expensive, hence wanting to keep it private if that's the only option.
Hi all - this is probably the most important requested feature for my site, so I'd like to see if anyone would be interested in either developing this for a fee or chipping in towards pushing its development forward. I don't mind paying in full, but if it's going to be open sourced, I'd prefer to not foot the whole bill. Here's the features I'd like to see, I can get more specific if anyone is interested.
* Ability for employers to create a profile
* Upload a logo (and change later if necessary)
* Upload brief company description, address, phone, contact persons, contact e-mail, etc.
* Ability for them to log in and add, edit, delete previous posts, etc.
* Possibly more, I plan on putting a full spec list together
I did also send an e-mail to Filip to see if he might be interested.
Hey Filip - I notice you mentioned updates for the employer controller panel on 08/31. Any luck with that yet?
I was able to get this added, and I am by no means a coder. ;)
Very simple, thanks for the detailed instructions.
I did see this error show up on the admin page when I selected a job to edit:
Notice: Undefined variable: translations in /home/gjh11/html_test/beta/admin/page_edit_post.php on line 126
