Topic: Will Redjumpsuit addons ever become standard?
Hi everyone!
Let me start this post by saying that I have NOTHING against redjumpsuit, I think the addons he creates are great!
I do think that they are a bit pricey and that the addons offer mostly basic features that you would expect to be standard on this system.
My question is, considering that someone in the community is developing these for a profit, will we ever see these features become part of the package?

Hi @webid,
Thanks for asking!
The answer is YES, we are adding more and more good stuff to jobberBase, some of them integrated by redjumpsuit himself, as he is part of the dev team.
Is there something in particular you would need?

Hi filipcte,
Thanks for the response.
Five things that I think would be awesome and take JobberBase to a new level are:
1) Subcategory support
2) Company login (with history of applications)
3) Applicant login (with history of applications)
4) The ability for the company to limit amount of responses - ie. deactivate job after x amount of applicants.
5) The option (for the admin of the site) to automatically have jobs deleted / deactivated after a chosen amount of time.

Hi filipcte,
I think subcategory support and option to automatically have jobs deleted / deactivated after a chosen amount of time are the very important features for the next release of jobberBase.
Many thanks for your work.
Gianfranco
P.S.: when is scheduled the next release of jB?

I would like to stand up proudly and say "PLEASE GOD NO" to the proposed inserting.
I don't like a lot of their addons and I would hate to see JB cluttered up like osCommerce.
Add the ability to add category descriptions and leave it nice and neat.

Re: Will Redjumpsuit addons ever become standard?
I have to slightly agree with too many add ons, i think a core application with add ons is better than an application to all the features. You can't code for everyone...Pick a login feature...some would want a registration page with Password and email and other would want more, the best code is scaleable and easily customisable but rarely is.
Make the add ons and give us the choice if we want to add them.....but make them first ....great update.
more themes is my first change..then the Twitter update and lots of SEO

Re: Will Redjumpsuit addons ever become standard?
Its an interesting debate.. I like redjumpsuits add ons... I wish there were more.. I think though the add ons should be outside of the core code.. as not everyone wants company/applicant login. unless you want to find ways of adding value to your job board. Maybe a model like joomla would be good where you download the core code and then use plugins/mods to customise to your taste..Is that not what we have now with 'hacks'. Maybe we should think a if it improves the core code that it should be included....anyway those are my ramblings

Re: Will Redjumpsuit addons ever become standard?
I would like to add my voice to adding subcategories, that would be very useful. And I agree with others about avoid making this system bloatware. I think we need a good reliable core that could remain pretty much unchanged with future releases addressing only security issues. Then perhaps more themes and add-ons can be developed when everyone feels we have something reliably stable and unchanged, rather than having to keep updating themes etc with every new release.

Re: Will Redjumpsuit addons ever become standard?
I have to agree redjumpsuit is too expensive...but has some nice ideas, needs to go further though....
for what its worth, my misses has been in recruitment for a number of years, I asked her what see used the most and in order of importance she uses daily/weekly the following...
1)The ability to add/delete/hide fields to the registration process.
2) ability to add banners, newsletters to the customers "my account area" and send mass emails to groups
3) the ability to create forms and add new pages
4) suspend accounts
