Topic: jobberbasePayPal v1.0 released - PayPal solution for jobberbase

jobberbasePayPal v1.0 released

I have been getting a lot of emails regarding a PayPal payment solution for jobberbase so I have finally finished this mod and it's available for purchase and download at http://www.innoviata.com/?page_id=12 - cost is $19.95 USD

Don't scream at me for charging for it - I figure it's fair enough seeing as those who use it are doing so to make a profit also.

This solution will add a PayPal Pay Now button to your jobberbase v1.6 and earlier.
Tested with v1.6. All versions since Jan 2008 should accommodate this mod.

Features
    * Secure
    * Fast
    * Easy to implement
    * Keeps the jobberbase simplicity
    * Can turn PayPal on or off
    * Advertisers can still freely edit and delete their ads after payment and posting
    * Custom payment button and publish button messages
    * All else remains the same with the job posting process as in a standard jobberbase install

Requirements
    * jobberbase v1.6 (and earlier).
    * PayPal merchant account.
    * A little time (about 30 minutes) to mod your installation.
    * No coding experience necessary. You can Cut and Paste? ☺.

Optional Requirements
    * PayPal Sandbox account for testing purposes. See PayPal Help on the web for more info.

I'm sure its a great mod and all, but the spammage on all those forum threads (some several months old) is really overdone.

I agree with Chronos about the spamming. Your module looks promising and I agree with you that it's fair to make money with it. To my knowledge it's not beinging used a lot in the Netherlands, because we've got something called iDeal (cooperation between Dutch banks), otherwise I would definetely have invested those 20 dollars (only 16 euro's big_smile),

I hope it'll work out for you!

Would you also be able to make this work with Google Checkout?  GC is much more like an actual shopping cart than Paypal (good for ebay, not for corporate users).

Yes probably re Google checkout - will do in the next couple of days

Would it be possible to make a version or implement this version, so the company can pay for having a job ad in the featured section, whereas normal ads still are free?

but google checkout only accept usa and uk accounts.

You can pay if you're foreign, but no receive money, it's a shit.

Your site is not working properly.

Payment integration is so much required. Can you integrate it with 2CO ? ALso can it be used to create customized packages ? For example suppose I want to offer a recruiter X amout for single job posting for 30 days, or xxx amount for unlimited posting for a year .

It would be great to hear from you on this. I have this requirement

Re: jobberbasePayPal v1.0 released - PayPal solution for jobberbase

2CO - Yes

The various options that you mentioned - yes and no

Yes it is entirely possible but it is a custom coding job at the moment. No it is not available as a download.

We are working on a system that will cater for (almost) everyones varying payment needs but it is about 8 weeks away at the moment.

Hi Zartoop,

Sounds like just what I'm looking for but two questions:
1. Will it work with the most recent 1.7 version?
2. Does it use the Paypal IPN to avoid people cancelling the payment process from getting access?

Does this work with the most recent 1.8 version of Jobber base?

Re: jobberbasePayPal v1.0 released - PayPal solution for jobberbase

Yes it works with v1.7 and v1.8
I can install it for $40 + module cost;  with any currency and send instruction on how to edit the cost of listing.
www.budgetwebdesign.com.au

I tried to remove the manual email activation because why have this if people are paying for a listing, anyway whatever I did did not work so I put it back with manual email activation and quoted the owner $30 to remove the manual email activation, and it turned out that the owner wanted manual email activation anyway.

with reCaptcha I see no need for the admin to manually activate the emails... it can discourage listers... I can find a way to remove manual email activation to for an extra $30.

Yes I think so, or it does have something to prevent people from cancelling the payment process and getting access

Re: jobberbasePayPal v1.0 released - PayPal solution for jobberbase

What we are implementing while we study jobberbase closer and find ways of creating our own scripts is to remove the post a job link from the theme, create a page with offer and reasons to post then create a pay pal button with the various terms we are offering or ad runs and have customer process payment once complete have paypal redirect to the post a job page and have job poster create submission. This creates a logical flow that really does not disrupt customer much.

I do not advise you disable job posting from admin panel because then even knowing the link internally for posting would not allow you to use it as it is disabled.
