Topic: Running Jobberbase directly on your desktop/ statusbar

You probably haven't thought of this, but you can access your Jobberbase frontend and/or backend instantly from your desktop. But why should I do it? Running your backend from your desktop can save you time if you have to access it a lot. And running your frontend right from your desktop is something you could promote on your website. Let your visitors and posting companies access your website instantly!

You can also do this for Windows, but I wanted to focus on Mac this time. Search for Prism from Mozilla and you can do the same.

Step 1
Download Fluid (Mac only) and install it.

Step 2
1. Open Fluid from your Applicaton folder;
2. Enter your Jobberbase URL (http://www.yourjobberbasedomain.com/)
3. Give it a name (My Jobberbase);
4. Select the location where you want to place the link (I'd choose Application);
5. Use the icon from your own URL or select a custom one (like your logo);
6. That's all. Open Applications and click on the new app. It should take you to your website.

Taking Fluid one step further
We're going to place an icon in the system wide statusbar, so you can  access your site even faster!
1. Open the app you just created;
2. On the statusbar click on the name of your app (it's the app specific menu, next to the Apple logo on the left) and select 'Convert to MenuExtra';
3. Select OK in the popup dialog;
4. That should be all! A instant link to your Jobberbase installation right in your statusbar.

You could place these instructions, or rewrite/translate them and place them on your website. That way your visitors/ companies can instantly access your website (or place new jobs).

Great extra, not?
