Topic: jobberBase 1.9 Development

Well jobberBase 1.9 is currently in development. Just for information here are the expected changes from 1.9:

1. View All Jobs Page - all jobs finally on a single page.
2. Admin Area can also filter jobs by types
3. Easy Language switch via config.php supporting multiple translation files
4. New Theme variable - {$THEME} which refers to the active theme in use.
5. Improved Job Posts editing (maybe in form of more textile features or using a WYSWYIG Editor at frontend)
6. Restructuring of Files, Translations and Config.php in a logical way
7. Lots of Bug fixes and small enhancements and code improvements

View the full roadmap at http://www.jobberbase.com/wiki/index.php/Roadmap

You can always check out the latest dev version from http://code.google.com/p/jobberbase/source/checkout

The 5th point is currently in progress. You may not see it at present in the SVN version.
by using a SVN Client.

Expected date - Soon.

Re: jobberBase 1.9 Development

Great good news very soon Jobberbase 1.9 suits. wink wink wink wink
Especially using a WYSWYIG Editor at frontend or more textile features.

Is it known where this is?
I wait anxiously, especially on a good WYSWYIG Editor.

Re: jobberBase 1.9 Development

Guys any chance you could add a Google/Yahoo sitemap feature to jobberbase?  There are free classes in PHP for this at phpclasses.org and elsewhere.  It could be run via cron quite easily.

Keep up the good work and appreciate the update!

Re: jobberBase 1.9 Development

Can the HTMLArea WYSIWYG editor built in jobberbase 1.9.
This is a free WYSIWYG editor.

Or are there better?

Re: jobberBase 1.9 Development

CKEditor looks promising with its high accessibility compliance. Found this http://code.google.com/p/jobberbase/issues/detail?id=21
My vote is for CKEditor!
I also found the site called http://qualidator.com
It helps track down accessibility issues.
I managed to fix up my homepage to be the most accessible (tested site) in Canada with AAA rating.
The jobberbase demo also scores very high in the tests, especially for seo, but there is some room for improvement in usability and accessibility. Would be nice to take this in consideration with future development and integrating CKEditor would be a great start.

Surely...the guide will be available well in time before 1.9 releases. We earlier predicted 1.9 to be a minor update but it seems it will again be a big update with some pretty neat feature set and improvements. Kudos to our dev team - putypuruty, chronos, links, evert, radulucaciu and filip who had major contributions for the upcoming v1.9.

Hi,

First of all, thanks for releasing such a good job!!

We just started running a new site with jobberbase 1.8 and are more than happy with the solution. We would like to contribute back with any help you might need. Our group is specialized into Quality Assurance, so feel free to ask for any testing needed.

Re: jobberBase 1.9 Development

A very humble request for some features in 1.9, i am not sure if my post(request) will get some votes of favor from community.
a) Please must give Subcategory feature
b) on Page SEO option to collect content(for meta title and description) form job description automatically, and for cats. and sub cats. too.
c) Tag cloud, and logo option for companies or job posts.
d) advanced search feature.

i hope this will give more prestige to the Jobber base.
Any idea when  uncountable waiting eyes can see the 1.9 ?

Re: jobberBase 1.9 Development

Hi guys,

Any news?

I would also love to see a feature where people placing ads can register themselves and manage their ads. That would make life much easier for them instead of having to keep all those emails. I know through responses from posters that our jobsite could have many more jobs on it if it would have that feature.

Thanks.
