I am sorry and disappointed but I simply do not understand the concept of Jobber Pro:

    - Employer registration:
Unfortunately we can’ t use the registration process, but it’ s ok as everybody will welcome the fact that the employers pay a fee.

But I do hope that the admin will be able to swicth on/off the registration fees, because let’ s get real: Most of the folks who put a jobberbase online (like me) do not have sufficient credibility, brand behind (and users) to convince the Employers to pay a small fee. And even if an employer is agreed to do so, he is expecting some features in return.

    - Resume Management online:
I don’ t see the utility. It is good, but not the most important.
What is more faster? Receive the resume in your mail box, or go online, login, click on the resume you want to download, open it on your desktop…
If it was possible to have a preview of preview, and also a function to pick up the employer email, and forward it (with subject:you might be interested in…).

    - Company profile:
As bonus, the employer should be able to set up a short company profile (page), with a function to upload their logo. Instead get in one company cloud. The company profile add a value to the “why should i pay for it?”

    - Multi Replies:
Imagine if I want to reply to 4 ad at the same time, it would be great if I can check the ads that i interested in, click reply, get a pop up to fill up my Message
or letter of intention, upload the resume…

    - MatCaptcha:
    Wonderful!

    -Job Description:
Why not more field when posting the job descrition: Salary, dead line of submission, company profile (duplicate of the comapny profie cited above)?

    -Ad Placement:
We should have some ad placement in the site, and simply go to the Admin, copy the adsense sense code in one field, check if we want it on the main page, job page… And done.

    - Resume Upload (Database) like Jobs Path.
I understand that you decided to not put this in the JBP version, but i think that it s a terrible mistake. It could be amazing feature, and bring more revenues.
After discussed with some folks, they explained me that they don’ t see the point to post their ad on my site even if it s free, just because i do not have enough visitors.
No visitors = no celebrity = no users =no employers = no money (registration).

After discussed with some visitors of my site, all complained that they can’ t create a profile and upload their CV.

The marketing concept of JobberBase is to attracts the job seekers with the Job ads. But how we can attract the employers ?

To attract the visitors you should have something great: Job adds (statistically speaking you got more job seeker than jobs, and less ads with a payment process) or something to give. And here come our Resume upload function.

You would tell me that i am missing the point: Jobberbase is a Job Board, not a Resume Board.

Yeah you r totally right, but imagine: how much employers will pay for an ad, and how many visitors will pay to upload their Resume?
And base on the numbers of Employers (job ad) and employee (seekers), you can price the resume upload at 1$ via Paypal by exemple, i am sure it will bring you more that the employers registration.

Don’ t think that i got negativity on it. I got love for JobberBase, for me it is the best JobBoard script, it simply does what it was made for: Post a job ad for free in the minute.
But Jobber B. Pro is a another level, and right now i am not convinced it meets the requirement to get priced 200$.
Maybe you should consider to develop some plugins and sell the plugin to people like me for example ;)

    Hi Fred,

Thanks for your feedback, much appreciated! The next step in JB Pro will be to add jobseeker accounts, with resume upload. We’ll ship this for free to those who already purchased a license.

There are many features we could build, and you’ve mentioned quite a few of them. But for now, our purpose is to keep the app as simple and clean as possible.

The open-source version will always be available and you’re not forced into purchasing Pro if you don’t want to. However, Pro includes some much requested features and we’re planning to add more.

The plan is to make Pro as simple to deploy as possible, with all required features for a jobsite. The open-source version will remain lightweight, as we allow others to build on it.

In the end, we wish to transform jobberBase in a plugin-friendly app. This is not a trivial effort and requires a lot of refactoring, but we’ll get it done eventually, as all earnings for Pro go back into development.

  3. [...] a month ago, we launched jobberBase Pro, a compiled version of jobberBase + some extra features requested by a lot of [...]

  4. I downloaded it and its a great script

  5. I ‘ll wait till that version also available free :)
